What this site collects, which is almost nothing.

This page describes what happens to information when you read this site, send an inquiry, or talk to the assistant. It is written to be read, not to be survived.

Who is responsible

This site is operated by Ehsan Kaykhah, who works as KAY, based in Los Angeles, California, United States.

For anything on this page — a question, a request to see your data, a request to delete it — write to hello@ehsankaykhah.com, or use the contact page. One person reads that address.

Reading this site

Reading these pages sets no cookie, stores nothing in your browser, and loads no analytics, advertising, or tracking script of any kind. There is no cookie banner because there is nothing to consent to.

The typefaces are served from this domain. They were downloaded once when the site was built, so opening a page makes no request to a font provider and tells no one that you were here.

The site is hosted on Vercel, which keeps standard server logs — the address requested, the time, an IP address, and a browser user-agent string. Those logs are Vercel's operational records, kept briefly and used to serve and secure the site.

The forms

The inquiry form and the booking form send what you type to this site's own database, where it becomes an inquiry that Ehsan reads and answers. With your words it keeps the page you sent it from, the page your visit began on and the site that linked you there if your browser says so, and the wording of the notice beside the form, so there is a record of what you were told when you sent it.

Where your visit began is held only in the open tab's memory while you move between pages. Nothing is written into your browser, and nothing about it leaves unless you send a form.

The newsletter field keeps your email address and the fact that you asked for the newsletter. It is kept apart from inquiries: signing up is not an inquiry, and sending an inquiry does not sign you up.

Your IP address is used, as a salted hash, only to slow down anyone sending the same form many times in a few minutes. The address itself is not stored.

If the database cannot be reached, a form falls back to what it used to do: it opens your own mail program with what you typed, so nothing is lost.

Ask KAY, the assistant

Ask KAY is the chat panel on this site. It is software, not Ehsan, and the panel says so before it says anything else.

When you send it a message, that message and a short passage of this site's own published text are sent to the model provider that generates the reply. Your question is also sent to an embedding service, which turns it into numbers used to find the relevant passage. Neither is given your name, your email, or anything about you that you did not type into the message itself.

Conversations are recorded so that the questions this site fails to answer can be found and answered. What is kept:

  • The messages of the conversation, as written, on both sides.
  • Which passages were retrieved, how long the reply took, and what it cost — numbers, no text.
  • A one-line summary of the conversation, written by the same kind of software.
  • Your IP address as a salted, truncated hash. The address itself is never written down; the hash answers only whether two conversations came from the same place.
  • If you mark an answer as not useful, that fact and any reason you type.

How long, and then gone

Conversations are kept for ninety days and then deleted. The deletion is a scheduled job that reads the same ninety-day setting this sentence names, so the number here and the number in the software cannot drift apart.

Contact details are treated differently in two places. In the list of unanswered questions and in the server log, phone numbers and email addresses are masked before they are written. In the conversation itself they are left intact, because if you offered a number so that someone could call you back, deleting it would be a strange way to answer.

If you tell the assistant your name, email or phone so that Ehsan can reply, or send a form, that is kept as an inquiry — with the conversation it came from linked to it while the conversation exists. An inquiry is kept while it is open and for as long as any work that follows from it needs it. Ask, and it is deleted sooner.

Who else sees any of it

Nothing here is sold, rented, or shared for advertising. There is no advertising on this site and no arrangement under which there could be.

The following services process data because the site cannot work without them. Each is used for one thing and nothing else:

  • Vercel — hosting and server logs.
  • Supabase — the database that holds conversations and inquiries, in the United States (Oregon).
  • Google — the model that writes the assistant's replies reads your message and the retrieved passage.
  • Voyage AI — turns your question into numbers so the right passage can be found.
  • Telegram — only if you choose to talk to the assistant there instead of here, in which case Telegram's own terms apply to that conversation as well.

Where it is held

The site is operated from the United States and the services above process data there. If you are writing from Iran, Europe, or anywhere else, your message is read and stored in the United States, whose data-protection law is not the same as your own.

Sending a message to the assistant, or a form, is how you choose that. Reading the site requires none of it.

What you can ask for

Write to the address above and you can ask to see what is held about you, to have it corrected, or to have it deleted. There is no form and no account to log into — a plain email is enough, and the reply comes from a person.

If you are in California, the CCPA gives you these rights explicitly, along with the right not to be discriminated against for using them. Personal information is not sold or shared as those words are defined there, so there is nothing to opt out of.

If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, the same requests are handled the same way, and you may also complain to your national supervisory authority.

One honest limit: a conversation is identified by a hash of an IP address, not by a name. If you ask for a conversation to be deleted, it helps to say roughly when it happened and what it was about, or there may be no way to find it.

Children

This site is for people doing business and is not directed at children under thirteen. Nothing here is knowingly collected from them. If you believe a child has sent something through the assistant, write and it will be deleted.

The date at the top is the date of the last substantive change. If what is collected changes, this page changes first, not afterwards.
